Unification of opposition takes purely a symbolic character and can be assessed as attracting the attention of certain forces outside the country, as the fulfillment of an order from outside and does not serve any perspective, the executive secretary of
New Azerbaijan Party (NAP), MP Siyavush Novruzov, said in his interview with the ruling party.
"Such a cheap show-unification will have no effect on the election results. There are many reasons for this. The first one is that the electorate of the Musavat Party and Popular Front Party (PFP) is the same. There can be no question of attracting new voters," said Novruzov.
During the event on the 21st anniversary of the PFP on July 15, the leader of Musavat Party
Isa Gambar proposed to create a single party, unifying PFP and Musavat. Currently, negotiations on this proposal are continuing.
According to Novruzov, serious splits and waste from the camp have taken place inside the opposition recently.
"This process particularly drew attention to the PFP. Only persons of PFP have established 4 to 5 parties. Some have moved away from politics, others have joined other parties. Today, except one or two people, no one can name the third one in the ranks of the PFP. And those involved in unification of the Musavat Party incurred defeat during all previous elections, and as a result, has sustained a serious split," said Novruzov.
"These parties do not have local structures. Those who operate in the central structure are visible only in the pages of newspapers. In general, the electorate can not be discussed," said Novruzov.
