David Bakradze is Community of Democracies Parliamentary Forum keynote speaker

Georgian Parliament Chairman David Bakradze will be one of the keynote speakers Community of Democracies Parliamentary Forum, to be held in Washington. He will leave for the U.S. Sept. 14.

The forum will be attended by chairmen of the parliaments of Central and Eastern Europe.

The Forum will be opened by the Community of Democracies Parliamentary Forum President Emanuelis Zingeris. It will also be attended by President of the European Parliament Jerzy Busek, U.S. Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi, Lithuania's Parliament Speaker Irena Degutiene, the Speaker of the Moldovan Parliament Mihai Ghimpu, and Deputy Chairman of the Senate of Poland Zbigniew Romazevski.

During his visit to Washington, Bakradze will meet with U.S. senators and congressmen, representatives of the White House Administration, as well as non-governmental organizations. His public speech is expected before the representatives of scientific circles.

Sept. 19 President of the Georgian Parliament will leave for New York, where he will meet with investors and attend the high-level meeting of heads of states, to be held under UN auspices, which will discuss the Millennium Development Goals.

David Bakradze will take part in the summit of the Inter-Parliamentary Union "Mobilizing parliamentary support for MDG policies and plans," Sept.21.
