President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today received Albania's Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Edmond Haxhinasto and his accompanying delegation.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today received Albania's Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Edmond Haxhinasto and his accompanying delegation, the official website of the Azerbaijani President reported.

Edmond Haxhinasto conveyed greetings of Albania's Premier Sali Berisha to the Head of State.

He praised intensive rebuilding work in Azerbaijan. According to him, rapid development in Azerbaijan is a sign of country's moving in a right direction. The Minister underlined there are ample opportunities for developing relationship between Albania and Azerbaijan in a variety of fields. Haxhinasto pointed out existing political relations between the two countries can boost bilateral ties both on a bilateral basis and within international organizations. The FM noted the countries would continue to support each other, adding there is room for development of economic relations even more.

The Head of State underscored there are good relations between the two countries. He noted Azerbaijan is interested in developing bilateral ties with Albania. President Ilham Aliyev recalled his meetings with Albania's top officials, saying there is friendship between him and Albanian President. The Azerbaijani leader highlighted the importance of creating strong cooperative relations and the fact that both countries support each other. He expressed confidence that Haxhinasto's visit to Azerbaijan would be important for discussing future plans on development of cooperation with Azerbaijani counterparts.

The Head of State, for his part, asked the Minister to pass on his greetings to Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha.
