Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov was invited to attend a meeting of the Organization of the Islamic Conference's (OIC) foreign ministers in Astana on June 28-30, Kazakh Ambassador to Azerbaijan Serik Primbetov at a press conference.
Kazakhstan chairs the OIC in 2011, Primbetov said. He stressed that the 38th OIC ministerial meeting is of particular importance during the Kazakh presidency given the current situation in Arab countries.
"Given Azerbaijan's positive experience of cooperation in the framework of the OIC, Kazakhstan relies on Azerbaijan's support and active participation during the Kazakh presidency," he added.
