Two people were killed during the dispersal of opposition demonstrations in Georgia , Georgian Interior Ministry's Analytical Department Head Shota Utiashvili said. He said cars from the opposition leaders' escort ran down on the two people and they died as a result.

" Car escort of the opposition leaders, leaving in hasty the place of riots while dispersal, ran over a 54 -year-old policeman, Nodar Tskhadadze ," Utiashvili said .

Tskhadadze was among the protesters.

"Police Lieutenant Vladimir Mashulashvili was also killed in running-down accident," Utiashvili added. .

About 37 victims of the running-down accident during the riots have been hospitalized. Eight of them are policemen, 28 - ordinary citizens and one- journalist of ITV broadcaster, Utiashvili said.

"We express our condolences to the families of the dead and all victims," he said.
