Turkmen President invited to visit Iran

President Gurbangulu Berdimuhamedov was invited to visit Iran at any time convenient on behalf of his Iranian Counterpart Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the Turkmen government reported.
Berdimuhammedov gratefully accepted the invitation to visit Iran, handed by Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi, who was received at the presidential palace in Ashgabat on July 21.
Salehi arrived in Ashgabat, leading the high-level delegation to participate in the meeting of the Turkmenistan-Iran Intergovernmental Commission for economic cooperation in the Oguzkhan palace complex.
Berdimuhamedov underscored "the progressive nature of Turkmen-Iranian relations that recently gained a new dynamic and practical content."
In turn, Salehi said that " a determining factor for enhancing steadily the fruitful intergovernmental dialogue was friendly relations between the leaders of the two states as well as fruitful contacts in the political, economic and cultural spheres. "
