Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolay Patrushev will visit Iran on Aug.15 on the Iranian Supreme National Security Council Secretary Saeed Jalili's invitation, Iranian Mehr news agency reported.

During the visit, the Russian representative is scheduled to meet with Jalili and other senior officials. It is supposed that a phased approach to implementation of the Iranian nuclear program, proposed by the Russian side, will be discussed.

In mid-July, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov proposed a phased approach to eliminate international community's doubts about Iran's nuclear program.

According to the proposal, "each time when Tehran satisfactorily answers the question or concern of the International Atomic Energy Agency, it should be encouraged, including some sanctions should be frozen."
