The whereabouts of the Turkish Airlines (Turk Hava Yollari) pilots, who were kidnapped in Lebanon's capital of Beirut, has been established, Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc said, Anadolu Agency reported on Tuesday.

"We have defined the pilots' whereabouts and know that nothing threatens their lives", Arinc said.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, Turkey does its best for pilots' quick release, but it is still impossible to state the exact date of their release.

The Turkish Airlines pilot and the co-pilot (both Turkish citizens) were abducted by unidentified persons on the way to a hotel in Beirut.

Responsibility for the abduction was taken by the previously unknown group Zuwar Al Rida.

Lebanese authorities are also involved in the release of Turkish pilots, and have repeatedly declared that the pilots will be released soon.
