The co-rapporteurs of the PACE Monitoring Committee Tadeusz Iwinski and Pedro Agramunt will continue monitoring Azerbaijan's compliance with the commitments to PACE during the visit to this country on March 1- 4, the PACE Monitoring Committee told Trend Feb. 16.
During the visit to Azerbaijan, the co-rapporteurs will meet with the officials, MPs, representatives of the civil society, human rights activists, lawyers, and journalists.
Iwinski was elected the PACE Monitoring Committee co-rapporteur on Azerbaijan on January 29 during a winter session in Strasbourg. In this position, he replaced Joseph Debono Grech (Malta).
Iwinski has been a PACE member since January 1992. For several years he has been the vice-president of the assembly, PACE rapporteur on Chechnya.
The term of office of the PACE Monitoring Committee second co-rapporteur on Azerbaijan Pedro Agramunt will expire on June 24, 2015.
