BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 15. President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev visited the Narimanov Park in the Narimanov district of Baku as it reopened after undergoing major renovations on July 15, Trend reports.
Eldar Azizov, the head of Baku City Executive Authority, briefed the President on the park's newly developed facilities.
The park was originally established in the 1950s with an area of 4.1 hectares.
The redesign includes various new amenities such as rest areas, entertainment facilities including a refurbished fountain square, and enhanced green spaces. Outdated structures have been removed, while existing public amenities have been modernized. New lighting, sports facilities, and playgrounds have also been installed, and significant upgrades have been made to the park's engineering and communication networks for efficient rainwater drainage.
The reopening of Narimanov Park this year aligns with Azerbaijan hosting COP29, marking an important milestone in the country's efforts as part of the "Green World Solidarity Year".
