Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev visited electric power station in Agdash on Thursday.
In his remarks Etibar Pirverdiyev, the President of Azerenergji JSC, informed that the substation with the capacity of 110KW would resolve the energy problems of the district. It came as the first for its capacity in the country.
In his turn President noted that there was acute problem with the energy supply to the country, which would be resolved soon. In particular, several small-capacity electric power stations will be built in the country, while the construction of new big energy blocs. He noted that a new steam-generating rig will be commissioned in the Sumgayit Thermo-electric power station in August 2005.
After Azerbaijani President visited confectionary factory Orelay, a regional shopping center Arash, and city trade market. The head of state told public that his satisfaction with the work of the Executive Power of Agdash. The President reminded of his recent decree on anti-inflation measures, which promoted cut in prices. Aliyev noted that the salaries will be increased. Residents of Agdash noted the problem with the gas supply.
The President said that though Azerbaijan produces 4 billion cu m of gas and additional 5 billion cu m is imported, it is still insufficient to cover the country’s energy demand. Besides, gas production to start from Shah-Daniz next year will provide Azerbaijan with additional gas volumes, Aliyev added.
Touching upon the problems of thermo-supply, the head of state said that the over-use of electricity leads to over-load of the electricity network. Azerbaijani President stressed his loyalty to Heydar Aliyev’s policy and maintaining the stability and progress in the country.
