Ukraine plans to purchase diesel fuel from Azerbaijan this year. The charge d’affaires of Ukraine in Azerbaijan Igor Kezima confirmed these intentions of the Ukrainian government to Trend.
According to the diplomat, Kiev needs acutely the fuel. В"The issue was discussed during the visit of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry head Tarasyuk to Azerbaijan.
The government of Azerbaijan gave its principal consent on the issue. The issue of the diesel fuel purchasing from Azerbaijan still remains actual”. вЂ" Kesima noted.
Touching upon the issue of paying off the debt for diesel fuel bought from Azerbaijan in 1995, the diplomat reported, as the amount is not essential, the Azerbaijani side does not urge on Kiev to pay off the debt.
The diplomat also noted, Azerbaijan owes nearly two times more to Ukraine, and both these issues will be considered at the next sitting of the intergovernmental commission.
