President Ilham Aliyev demonstrated clearly his intentions to advance the democratic process in Azerbaijan, and the countryвЂ™s government undertook a number of serious moves for the parliamentary elections to become the essential advancement in the countryвЂ™s further development, the statement by the AzerbaijanвЂ™s Ambassador to the USA Hafiz Pashayev says, Trend reports.
The Ambassador stressed, the efforts of the AzerbaijanвЂ™s leadership gave positive results, in regard to the free air time for the candidates, freedom of assemblies, decision on inking, which has been also reflected in the OSCE report of 7 November 2005. The diplomat said, the results of the poll, funded by the US International Development Agency (USAID), coincide by 85 % with the preliminary results of the elections, announced by the Central Election Committee of Azerbaijan, noting, by necessity, a new counting of votes at some questionable polling stations or holding new elections is possible.
