Head of the Azerbaijan Foreign Ministry (FM) discussed in Brussels perspectives of the ountry’s cooperation with the European Union (EC) with the officials of this international structure, the press service of the Azebaijan’s FM old Trend.
The Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan held a number of meetings with the Secretary General of the EC Council of Ministers on foreign ties and military and political issues Robert Cooper, deputy director of the European Commission Directorate General on foreign relations Michael Lee and the EC special envoy on South Caucasus Heykki Talvitie. At the meetings the issues of start of talks with Azerbaijan on developing the Action Plan within the New Neighborhood Policy, the conflict with Armenia, the situation in South Caucasus on the whole were touched upon.
The EC official spokesmen voiced confidence in the soonest start of negotiations with Azerbaijan on the New Neighborhood Policy.
