24 companies join Indian exhibition of goods in Baku

The Indian embassy held a news conference on Thursday in connection with India Show, an exhibition of Indian goods to start in Baku on Friday, Trend reports.

In his remarks Prabkhat Chandra Sharma, the general manager of the Organization for facilitating trade of the Indian government announced that the show was the second in its turn, while the first was held in 1999. 24 Indian companies participated in the show. Major companies represent the spheres of textile, home furniture, pharmaceutics, foodstuff and jewelry art. The majority of companies are from Rajastan state of India.

India and Azerbaijan has much common. They are close from the historic and cultural point of view and we hope that the number

of such exhibitions will increase in future, Sharma stressed.

In his turn the Indian Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Jiotti Swaroop Pande announced that to date over 30 Indian companies are active in Azerbaijan, with majority involved in pharmaceutics. Such exhibitions help to establish contacts, the diplomat underscored.

Organized jointly by the Chamber of Trade and Industry, the governmental organization for facilitating trade and the Indian embassy in Baku the show will be held at the Sports and Concert Complex named after Heydar Aliyev by 28 March.
