Prior to Azerbaijans joining UN Human Rights Council, official Baku submitted
a memorandum providing details on basic directions of its future human rights policy. Head of UN Baku office Marco Borsotti told Trend that said memorandum is a positive document that demonstrates Azerbaijans commitment to human rights protection.
В"It is positive that Azerbaijan stated its commitment to meeting UN requirements for reforms in human rights sphereВ", - Borsotti said.
Regarding scheduled visits of UN representatives to Azerbaijan, Borsotti said one of UN reporters for human rights is arriving in Baku in fall 2006. В"He will study the situation in refugees human rights sphere, in particular the actions Azeri government takes to improve their livingВ", - Mr Borsotti said.
