Today Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction (AUAC) is the only center in the republic that possesses enough staff potential for turning Baku into a city meeting modern standards, Gulchohra Mammadova, the rector of AUAC, told on June 14 at the round table dedicated to the development problems of Azerbaijani capital, Trend reports.
According to Mammadova, although the rapid construction of Baku is the obvious example of the economic growth of Azerbaijan, it needs to actively follow the city-building. Mammadova noted that the old general plan of Baku didnt reflect the present realities, and spoke about the necessity to prepare a new one. The general plan of each city intends all its development issues in the future, told Mammadova.
The historical part of the city should be kept, added Mammadova.
