The termination of the monitoring held by the Council of Europe in Azerbaijan is not an easy process, Sabir Hajiyev, the member of Azeri delegation in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) and also the chairman of Civil Unity Party, told Trend.

Besides, Hajiyev noted that a monitoring is held over all countries represented in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). Monitoring is a long-term process. The monitoring on CIS member-countries has not been terminated. For instance, Turkey has been the member of the Council of Europe for more than 40 years, but the monitoring on it has been terminated a year ago, told Hajiyev.

According to Hajiyev, even if a question is raised for the termination of the monitoring of any PACE member-country, it is difficult to believe that an available decision will be made. Because, the process of terminating the monitoring by the Council of Europe is not an easy process, Hajiyev added.
