The Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers held a meeting on 17 July to discuss sharp rise in prices of agriculture products, study of reasons and ways for removal of the problem.
The Prime Minister Artur Rasizade said that as a result of monitoring I the city markers and bazaars they revealed rise in prices of agriculture products, which seriously impacts on the purchasing power of low-income population and concerns the government. In condition of market economy, the interference of the authorities in the regulation of prices of any product is very low, while the government cannot be indifferent to such tendency. The prime minister explained the rise in prices with increase of community incomes and monopolization of the agriculture products market by different people, who impede the sale of products from the first source.
After the speeches by some ministers, heads of departments and executive powers of some regions, the head-of-staff of the Presents Executive Power, Ramiz Mehdiyev summarized the gathering. He informed that at the Presidents instruction, it is necessary to improve the situation, affect on cut in prices, organize fairs and carry out serious control over the durability of the process.
