The Plan of Actions of the EU Neighborhood Policy will be a firm basis for cooperation between EU and Azerbaijan, Finland`s Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja, Head of the delegation of the EU trio to Azerbaijan told today, Trend reports.
According to him, the Actions Plan is considered for 5 years. It includes political issues, as well as economic and social ones. According to the Actions Plan, the cooperation between Azerbaijan and EU will be based on the EU standards respect of human rights, the law above the all, the internal integrity, sovereignty, etc.
Alan Vadams, EU Commission Special Representative to Azerbaijan told that a monitoring on implementation of the EU Neighbourhood Policy Actions Plan is expected to be held every six months. The Plan is a bilateral agreement. And it includes obligations obligatory both to Azerbaijan and EU, added Mr. Vadams.
Commenting the issue on the forthcoming municipal elections to be held in Azerbaijan, Mr. Vadams pointed out that EU will assist the Azerbaijani Government in the holding of fair elections.
