Over the first 11 months of 2006 cargo deliveries by all types of transport conveyances made up 130.2 million tons, 12.9% more than 2005. Transportation by pipeline rose in the total amount of transportation and made up 18.5% (including 4.9% by Р'РўРЎ). 57.8% of entire cargo deliveries fell on private sector. 57.9% of entire cargo deliveries fell on private sector.

Cargo deliveries by all types of transport conveyances retained the record and made up 37.6 million tons, 59.3% more than 2005.

The aggregate amount of passenger transportation grew 6.1% as compared to 2005 and made up 967.5mln men. In this period 84.2% of passengers used automobile transport. The share of automobile transport in the passenger transportation made up 84.3%, while the share of metro was 15%.

Over 11 months of 2006 the volume of cargo deliveries comprised 66.2mln tons of cargo, or 6.3% more than 2005. The amount of passenger transportation made up 815.6mln (rose 5.7%). In turns the cargo turnover rose 8.8%, while passenger transportation 8%.

Thus, in the first 11 months of 2006 the Azerbaijan State Railway Department (ASRD) transported 27.3mln tons of cargo, or 14.9% more than last year. The cargo turnover rose 16.4%.

In this period 19mln tons of cargo was transported by rail, which is 2,659,000 tons more than 2005. 14mln tons of the total cargo fell on oil and oil products. The forecast on productivity was implemented by 104.3%.the Average weight of the freight cargo made up 2,153 tons, or 43 tons more than last year.

The cargo shipping comprised 12.6 million tons with a rise of 1.6% as compared to 2005. Some 70.2% of cargo deliveries fell on oil and oil products, while 29.8% was dry cargo. 99.8% of cargo deliveries was implemented under the international operations. The passenger transportation rose 6.5% as compared to last year, while goods turnover increased 10.8% and made up 7.5bln ton per km.

In January to November the volume of cargo processed at the ports of Azerbaijan made up 5.5mln tons, or 8.5% more than last year. 83.4% of the entire cargo fell on transit cargo, which increased 6.9% more than last year. The amount of import cargo reduced 4.3% and export cargo rose 31.4%.

In this period oil transportation via oil pipelines rose as compared. It was possible as a result of commissioning of the BTC, which carried 36.7% of the transported oil, or 6.4mln tons, Transportation via gas mains made up 7.6bln cu m with 43.4% of import gas

In this period oil transportation via oil pipelines rose 62.4% as compared to 2005 and comprised 24 million tons. Transportation via gas mains made up 9.3bln cu m with 43% of import gas.

Passenger transportation via airways grew 8.8% and made up 1.2mln people, including 5.8% implemented by private sector.

Metro remains to be the popular and profitable. Over the first 11 months a total of 145.3mln passengers traveled by metro, or 9.1% more as compared to last year.

In January-November 2006, 39.9mln tons of cargo has been transported via the Eurasian corridor, which exceeded the last year figure by 6.2% and comprised 34% of entire cargo deliveries to the country.
