Poland’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Satisfied with Negotiations in   Azerbaijan

E.Huseynov/ A memorandum on consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs was signed in on 1 March during the official visit to Azerbaijan of Anna Fotyga, 's Minister of Foreign Affairs.Consultatations on bilateral issues and the development of relations in the oil and gas sphere were held, said Elmar Mammadyarov, Minister of Foreign Affairs to Azerbaijan, during a briefing at the conclusion of the negotiations in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan. According to Mammadyarov, they also discussed the issue of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict regulation. Mammadyarov stated that Poland and Azerbaijan have very broad and historical ties and commented on the Polish architecture within the town of Baku. The ministers discussed the ongoing processes in the EU, as well as considering issues of strengthening and broadening ties within the framework of the European neighboring policy. In her turn, Mrs. Fotyga expressed her satisfaction with the negotiations with the President of Azerbaijan and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan. Underlining a number of common values between Poland and Azerbaijan, the Minister noted with pleasure the Polish language cafedra in Azerbaijan State University of Slav Languages. Stating Poland's membership in the EU and NATO, Fotyga expressed an interest in developing ties with their neighbors, especially with eastern countries, as well as in supporting the European Neighborhood Policy. The Polish Minister indicated Europe's oil supply issue as being most often discussed.
