Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr E. Huseynli / Vagif Asadov, Head of the Transport Security Department at the Baku City State Traffic Police reported on 3 May that the Azerbaijani Interior Minister, Ramil Usubov, had issued an order on the Improvement of Traffic Security. In compliance with the order special groups have been formed in the Central State Traffic Police and Baku City State Traffic Police.
The groups, including the head of departments, hold raids on weekend nights in order to decrease traffic accidents. As a result of the raids, over 150 motor-cars violating traffic rules have been exposed.
Asadov noted that the raids are aimed at decreasing death cases and injuries caused by traffic accidents.
