Azerbaijan, Baku, 309 April / Trend corr. I.Alizade / The Azerbaijani scientists consider that all the problems and shortcomings seen in the science sphere of the country are connected with the low salaries.
"I hope that the socio-economic development of Azerbaijan will lead to a rise in salaries of people engaged in the scientific field," Mahmud Karimov, President of the Azerbaijani National Academy of Science, stated in the meeting on 30 April.
The average salary of scientists in the Academy is AZN 180. Low salaries are the major cause of young generation's less interest in this field.
"Salaries of scientists should be doubled or tripled," Karimov stated.
