The Azerbaijani Education Ministry welcomes an initiative by the State Student Admission Commission to review high school grades during the university admissions process.
High school students will pay more attention to their grades if they are reviewed during the university admissions process, Education Minister Misir Mardanov told reporters.
Admission rules were changed for the 2009-2010 academic year. High school grades will be considered if two or more applicants receive the same scores on their university exams.
Mardanov said the ministry will exercise control over assessing the knowledge of applicants.
