A total of 35 chess players are leading at the "Baku Open-2009" chess tournament after the two rounds.
In the first round, Azerbaijani Grand Master, Shahriyar Mammadyarov, who is one of chess players with high-rating in the tournament, won Iranian A.Suzankar and scored two points. A favorite of the tournament, U.S. Chess Player Gata Kamsky lost to Azerbaijani Chess Player, Fariz Ahmadov who is now leading in the tournament with two points.
After two rounds, 35 chess players are leading in the tournament with two points. The tournament will consist of 9 rounds under the Swiss system.
