Azerbaijanis in Georgia studying Georgian language

The Georgian language courses for Azerbaijanis in Georgia are expanded, the Chairman of the Azerbaijani State Committee on Diaspora, Nazim Ibrahimov said at the meeting with Huseyn Yusifov, Deputy Governor of Georgia's Kvemo-Kartli region.

The Georgian language courses for Azerbaijanis in Georgia are expanded, the Chairman of the Azerbaijani State Committee on Diaspora, Nazim Ibrahimov said at the meeting with Huseyn Yusifov, Deputy Governor of Georgia's Kvemo-Kartli region.

"By expanding the Georgian language courses in Azerbaijani schools of Georgia, the State Committee on Diaspora will draw young people in these courses," the State Committee on Diaspora said to Trend .

According to unofficial data, roughly 500,000 Azerbaijanis live in Georgia.

Yusifov said that the governor of the Kvemo-Kartli region of Georgia initiated to hold Olympics on the Georgian language in Azerbaijani schools.

According to the Deputy Governor, the Government of Georgia supports the Forum of Azerbaijani youth living in Georgia, and is ready to help in organizing the event, which is scheduled for early December. The Deputy Governor also said that the governor of Kvemo-Kartli region, David Kirkitadze is expected to visit Azerbaijan.
