A trial began in Azerbaijan over lawyer, accused of fraud.
On Jan. 6, Fadail Ganjaliyev, accused of misappropriation of funds of citizens, gave evidence at the Court on Heinous Crimes over the criminal case.
According Ganjaliyev, he had no idea of fraud against the victims. He also said that he would fulfill the promise to the victims, but because of the arrest he was unable to end the work.
He is charged under article 178.3.2 (fraud with causing serious injury) of the Criminal Code.
According to the accusation, a resident of Baku Fadail Ganjaliyev engaged in lawyer activities in Baku, and using this, appropriated funds of citizens in large amount under the guise of buying and selling real estate.
On the basis of applications, the lawyer was arrested on 24 June last year as a result of operational search activities taken by employees of the 25th police department of Nizami district police station.
