The relevant structures continue the intensive work to stabilize situation in the disaster zone of Azerbaijan in accordance with the presidential decree, Ecology and Natural Resources Minister Huseyin Bagirov said today.

The relevant structures continue the intensive work to stabilize situation in the disaster zone of Azerbaijan in accordance with the presidential decree, Ecology and Natural Resources Minister Huseyin Bagirov said today.

"The people are assisted in the restoration and construction of homes and the work to return the population's life to normal is underway," Bagirov said.

Realization of the works is entrusted to the Emergency Situations Ministry, Bagirov said.

"The emergency situations ministry is tasked to build houses, the transport ministry - reconstruct the road and the irrigation and water management - provide the population with water in the disaster zone. There were established commissions consisting of representatives of the relevant ministries. A list of the required work is under development and size of the damage is identified," he said.

The Natural Resources Ministry carries out the necessary work towards effective water management in Azerbaijan.

"A comprehensive work should be carried out in this area. These include the installation of dams on the rivers, analysis of water quality and quantity, which are formed outside the country, work on disaster relief, etc." Bagirov said.
