Azerbaijani Embassy in Kuwait prepared a press release and sent to the Ministry of Kuwait and other official agencies, diplomatic missions accredited in the country and the media outlets in connection with the Genocide Day of Azerbaijanis - March 31, the Embassy reported on Thursday.
The statement was published in the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Wasat, which has a large audience.
The statement said that the decree by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev dated March 26, 1998 to declare March 31 the Genocide Day of Azerbaijanis is very important from a historical perspective.
The statement tells about the brutal murder of more than 30,000 Azerbaijanis in Baku on 31 March 1918, the destruction of schools, hospitals, mosques and houses.
