Azerbaijan can export not only oil but also an example of national and religious tolerance, the chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Associations Hidayat Orujov said at a meeting with the Head of OSCE Office in Baku Koray Targay, state committee said on Tuesday.

"Azerbaijan has always treated with respect for all religions and their carriers, all conditions are provided to enable them to perform prayer," Orujov added.

Orujov said, freedoms of religion in Azerbaijan, respect for the religious convictions of people are the basis of the state policy.

Orujov noted with regret that there are reports of some international legal organizations and states which give biased information about Azerbaijan.

The use of these data in documents without prior accurate definition causes it.

The Azerbaijani government wants to bring the realities of the country as they are to the world, and Azerbaijan is ready to cooperate with international organizations, conducting research in the religious sphere, Orujov said.

Targay noted that OSCE Baku office is a proponent of the use of data in records after an objective examination.

"The purpose of this meeting is to obtain information not from the press and individuals but from a reliable source. You can be sure, I'll stick to this principle, and the OSCE Baku office will represent the realities of Azerbaijan as they are" Targay said.

Targay said, sustainable development of Azerbaijan in all spheres doesn't meet the interests of certain circles, and they may try to cause unrest in the country by different ways.

"The unity in the community is a very important condition at such moments, and I watch as members of different religions and nations in Azerbaijan live in good neighborly relations," Targay said.
