Azerbaijan to host ice climbing championship

The Federation of Air and Extreme Sports in Azerbaijan jointly with the Youth and Sport Ministry will hold an open ice climbing championship on frozen waterfalls near the Lyazya village in Gusar province on Feb. 11-12.

The Federation of Air and Extreme Sports in Azerbaijan jointly with the Youth and Sport Ministry will hold an open ice climbing championship on frozen waterfalls near the Lyazya village in Gusar province on Feb. 11-12.

Athletes from Russia, Turkey, Georgia and Iran have been invited to
the championship, the federation told Trend on Thursday.

As many as 120 athletes are expected to take part.

In the first round on Feb. 11, the athletes will be tested on their skills. During the second round on Feb. 12, they will be tested on speed.
