Azerbaijan, Baku, April 9 /Trend I.Isabalayeva/

The board of pharmacy and pharmacopoeia at the Health Ministry in Azerbaijan will hold a meeting on banning the sale, importation and use of boric acid and a number of antibiotic-containing gatifloxacin in late April, the Health Ministry told Trend on Friday.

The decision to ban the import, sale and use of these drugs was taken because of their negative impact on the human body. Today, there are certain restrictions on the use of boric acid because of its high toxicity, even though the drug has passed state registration. But antibiotics containing gatifloxacin have not passed state registration and are not currently imported and used in the country.

The import and sale of drugs for weight loss such as "Meridia" and "Avandamet" and "Avandia" for diabetics were banned at last year due to the negative impact on the body.
