National Department of Hydrometeorology of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan has announced a preliminary forecast for the period of the Eurovision 2012 contest in Baku. The semi-finals of the contest will be held on May 22 and 24, final - May 26.
The Department told Trend that on May 21 Baku expects partly cloudy weather without precipitation, fog in places. During the day, the north-west wind will change by the southeast. The temperature will be 15-20 degrees at night, 25-29 degrees during the day.
On May 22 weather is expected to be partly cloudy, fog in places. In the evening on the Absheron peninsula scattered rains are expected in some places. The northern wind will strengthen during the day. Night temperature is 15-20 degrees and 25-30 degrees during the day.
On May 23 partly cloudy is predicted in Baku, fog in places. At night and morning, sometimes on the Absheron Peninsula short rains are expected. Wind is northern moderate. The air temperature at night is 16-21 degrees and 25-29 degrees during the day.
On May 24 cloudy weather is expected in the capital with scattered rains in the morning and afternoon. Wind is northern moderate. The air temperature is 15-18 degrees at night and 23-27 degrees during the day.
On May 25 partly cloudy weather is expected, fog in places. In the evening on the Absheron peninsula scattered rain is expected in some places. Wind is north moderate with amplification in the evening. Temperature is 15-20 degrees at night and 25-29 degrees during the day.
On May 26 cloudy weather will prevail, in the morning and afternoon rain is expected. Wind is northern moderate, occasionally with amplification. The air temperature is 14-18 degrees at night and 21-24 degrees during the day.
The 57th Eurovision Song Contest will be held in the Baku Crystal Hall near State Flag Square.
Azerbaijan won the right to host the prestigious European song contest after the victory of Eldar Gasimov and Nigar Jamal (Ell / Nikki) at Eurovision 2011 in Dusseldorf, Germany last May.
