The Azerbaijani State Migration Service deported 961 foreigners in June.

The Migration Service employees have carried out relevant activities to identify and prevent illegal migration, cases of violation of the rules of temporary and permanent residence of foreigners and stateless persons in Azerbaijan, the State Migration Service told Trend on Thursday.

As a result of the measures taken in June, 1344 foreign nationals were found violating the requirements of administrative law.

The decision was made to deport 868 foreigners within 48 hours and to administratively expel 93 foreigners based on state legislation, the service reported. Through fines, the residence of 383 people was legalized.

In June 2012, the service received 4,329 appeals from the foreigners and stateless persons in connection with the extension of stay in the country, issuance of a permit for permanent and temporary accommodation, admission to citizenship, restoring and denial of citizenship, as well as the definition of citizenship and refugee status, issuance and extension of individual work permit.

According to the report, the service has reviewed each complaint in accordance with the laws of the country and made the appropriate decision.
