U.S. Ambassador-at-Large for Global Women's Issues Melanne Verveer has discussed not only women's issues in Azerbaijan, but also other issues in the country.
Verveer made this statement at a press conference in Baku today.
Today's agenda includes the global problems, including the issues of security, economy, environmental and governance issues, Verveer said.
She stressed that women's participation is very important in solving these problems. The situation with the issue of gender equality in Azerbaijan is the same as in all other countries. Women's participation must be increased from the politics and the parliament to agricultural management.
In terms of family planning, she underscored the growth of selective abortions, which could lead to population issues in the future.
