President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, his wife, chairperson of the Baku 2015 First European Games Organizing Committee Mehriban Aliyeva and his daughter Arzu Aliyeva attended the opening of the Bike Park on May 13.
The president viewed the general plan of the Bike Park, and was informed about the work done here.
The Bike Park occupies a total area of 30 hectares. The BMX bike park was also built in the area of the Park. A platform for competition with obstacles was also built here. The created conditions fully meet the standards of the International Cycling Union.
Some 1,197 seats for spectators were established here. There are special places for VIPs, athletes, disabled spectators, and media representatives. The two-storey office building, which was built in the territory of the Bike Park, has a registration center, rooms for the analysis of doping, a 25-seat conference hall, and other auxiliary rooms.
The president then met with members of the Synergy Baku Cycling Project team.
