Award ceremony was today held at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku for winners of individual competitions in artistic gymnastics at the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games.
The ceremony was attended by Vice-President of the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation Altay Hasanov and the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation’s Executive Committee member Omar Diagne.
Medals were presented to the winners of men’s rings, parallel bars and floor exercises and women’s vault and uneven bars exercises.
Azerbaijani artistic gymnasts have won one gold, three silver and one bronze medals in five finals at Baku 2017.
Individual apparatus finals in artistic gymnastics started May 15 at the National Gymnastics Arena.
In men’s artistic gymnastics competitions, Azerbaijan is represented by Murad Agharzayev (floor exercise, rings, vault, pommel horse, and horizontal bar), Bence Talas (parallel bars, rings, pommel horse, and horizontal bar) and Timur Bairamov (parallel bars).
In women’s artistic gymnastics competitions, Azerbaijan is represented by Marina Nekrasova (vault and balance beam), Yuliya Inshina (vault, uneven bars, balance beam, and floor exercise) and Ekaterina Tishkova (uneven bars and floor exercise).
The Baku 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games started May 8 and will last until May 22 in Azerbaijan’s capital.
