More than 20,000 hectares of the Azerbaijani liberated territories from Armenian occupation were cleared of mines and unexploded ordnance in 2021, Prime Minister Ali Asadov said during a discussion of the Ministry Cabinet's report on activities in 2021 at a plenary session of the Parliament (Milli Majlis), Trend reports.
According to him, taking into account the importance of this issue, the necessary material and technical base for de-mining was strengthened.
"It is expected that as a result of these measures, 40,000 hectares of Azerbaijani liberated territories from Armenian occupation will be cleared of mines in 2022," Asadov said.
