BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 4. The State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads has started an overhaul of the Baku-Guba-Russian state border highway, the agency told Trend.
According to the agency, the repair and restoration work is being carried out from the 88th kilometer of the highway in the direction of Baku.
During the work, the deformed sections of the roadway will be removed. Then a new road base and asphalt concrete surface will be laid.
As a result of the overhaul, problems impeding the convenient and safe movement of vehicles will be eliminated.
Given the intensity of traffic on the highway, the work will be carried out in stages. In the area of work, traffic will be completely limited, two-way traffic will be provided along one of the lanes of the road.
Additional security measures will be taken, appropriate markings will be applied and temporary road signs will be installed, the agency said.
Due to the overhaul, the agency called on drivers to be careful when driving on the road, and to comply with the requirements of temporary road signs and traffic rules.
