BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 1. A significant portion of the Netherlands’ development is built on the plundered national wealth of enslaved countries, said an article "Azerbaijan Responds to Recent Dutch Resolutions" published on the website of the US Foreign Policy Association based in New York by prominent political analyst and journalist Rachel Avraham, CEO of the Dona Gracia Center for Diplomacy, Trend reports via the State Committee for Work with the Diaspora of Azerbaijan.
"The colonial past of the Netherlands is marked by the enslavement and exploitation of numerous peoples in Asia, Africa, and the Americas, along with numerous crimes committed against them. As they expanded their colonial empire through brutal tactics, the Netherlands consistently prioritized profit over human rights," the article reads.
Avraham describes the assertion that the Netherlands, which continues to keep various peoples in a state of dependency, is making efforts to address the severe consequences of its colonial history as hypocritical.
Additionally, the article criticizes two recent resolutions passed by the Dutch Parliament in support of Armenia and Armenians who voluntarily relocated from Karabakh, labeling them as biased and unjust.
Following these resolutions, the Dutch Foreign Minister endorsed them and referred to terrorists linked to the former separatist regime as "prisoners of war," calling for their release—actions that exemplify the Netherlands' double standards.
