Journalists Union Yeni Nasil with OSCE support is developing a new law draft В" Protection of honor, dignity and business reputation В", Trend reports quoting Arif Aliyev, chairman of Yeni Nasil.
Aliyev said OSCE Baku ofice helped to establih a workgroup of several MPs, lawyers and journalists to develop the new law. В"International organizations, including OSCE and the CE, pay big attention to topics related to defamation, or offence to honor, dignity and business reputation. They
even call the governments to revise regulatory in this sphere. For us it is an important and painful theme as almost all litigation and conflicts are related to defamation and racket journalismВ", said Aliyev.
Upon compeltion of discussions, the last version of law draft will be submitetd to Milli Medjlis for approval. В"Although our draft is a brandnew idea, it will contain revisions and amendments to existing lawsВ", he said.
The workgroup on teh law preparation consists of MPs Ganira Pashayeva, Azay guliyev, lawyers Irkin gadirov and Leyla Madatova, journalist organziations officials Arif Aliyev, Yadigar Mamedli and so.
