Trial of Former Azerbaijani Economic Development Minister Continues

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend E.Javadova / The criminal trial involving Azerbaijan's former Minister of Economic Development, Farhad Aliyev, his brother Rafik Aliyev, former President of the Azpetrol Group of Companies, and seventeen other persons, has continued on 4 June at the Court on Heinous Crimes presided by Judge Tofik Pashayev.

Charges were also made against Mansimov Ismayl where it was stated that Ismayl worked in the position of Advisor at the Ministry of Economic Development of Azerbaijan. He is charged with contravening Article 179.3.1, Article 179.3.2, Article 308.2, Article 311.3.1, Article 311.3.2, Article 311.3.3 and Article 313 of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan. Ismayl has also been charged with assisting Farhad Aliyev to forge documents for the illegal ownership of various premises.

Aliyev is accused of setting up illegal salaries for employees at the Ministry and involving them in his criminal activities.
