Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr S. Aghayeva / The clerical leader of Caucasus Muslims, Sheik-ul-Islam Hadji Allahshukur Pashazadeh, called upon Islamic and Christian worlds to dialogue. The chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Clerical Port made the statement in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, at an international scientific-practical conference on ' Uzbekistan's Place in Islamic Civilization' which began on 14 August, the head of Foreign Relations Department of the Clerical Port, Mugaddas Payizov, reported on 14 August.
In his speech the clerical leader of Caucasus Muslims again noted that he did not see any other way than a dialogue between the two major religions. Sheik-ul-Islam also called upon the high-ranking clerical persons of the Muslim countries participating in the conference to support Azerbaijan's fair position regarding Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and to show solidarity.
The conference is being held within the framework of the decision made by Islamic Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization - ISESCO, in compliance with which in 2007 Tashkent was announced the capital of Islamic culture in Asia. Different aspects of Islamic civilization and the place of Uzbekistan in its development are considered at the conference.
