Baku Shipyard ready to launch “Azerbaijan” ferry

Baku Shipyard LLC is ready to launch the first ferry of the project CNF18C “Azerbaijan”, Trend reports with reference to Marine Engineering Bureau in Ukraine’s Odessa city.

The main ferry for the Caspian Sea is ready by 76 percent, it will be launched at the end of this year, while the second vessel “Akademik Zarifa Aliyeva” is 48 percent ready. New “open” type ferries are being built for the Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company.

The vessel of the project CNF18C is designed to transport 100 passengers, 56 railcars with a gauge of 1,520 mm, trucks (50 road trains), including dangerous goods, with a feed handling scheme for railcars and cars and with an on-board ramp for loading and unloading vehicles on ordinary moorings.”

The foundation of the first vessel was laid in December 2017, the second - in March last year.
