Türkiye discloses freight traffic from Russia via local ports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 25. Turkish ports handled 29.7 million tons of cargo from Russia from January through April 2022, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Türkiye told TurkicWorld, Trend reports.

Ships under the Turkish flag delivered 969,897 tons of freight from Russia to domestic ports, while ships flying the flags of other countries – 22.77 million tons. From January through June 2022, Turkish ports handled 5.9 million tons of transit cargo from Spain.

During this period, Russian-flagged vessels transported 1.3 million tons of cargo to Turkish ports. From January through June 2022, Turkish ports handled 965,405 tons of transit cargo from Russia.

Türkiye's ports acquired 32.8 million tons of cargo in June 2022.

During the reporting period, cargo transportation by ships under the flag of Türkiye through local ports amounted to 2.3 million tons, while freight traffic by ships under the flags of other countries reached 30.5 million tons.

In addition, Turkish ports handled 6.3 million tons of transit cargo in June 2022. In the first half of 2022, Turkish ports received 197.2 million tons of cargo.

During this period, cargo movement by Turkish ships amounted to 13.7 million tons, and by ships of other countries amounted to 183.45 million tons.

From January through June 2022, Turkish ports handled 41.59 million tons of transit cargo.
