Number of companies with Chinese capital registered in Türkiye disclosed

BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 26. A hundred companies with Chinese capital were registered in Türkiye in 2022, the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) said, Trend reports via TurkicWorld.

That is 26 companies more than from January through December 2021.

In the reporting period, the total capital of Chinese companies registered in Türkiye amounted to 135.3 million Turkish liras ($7.19 million), while in the same period of 2021, this figure was 418.95 million Turkish liras ($22.26 million).

During 2022, 88 Chinese companies were listed in Istanbul with 36.1 million Turkish liras ($1.9 million) of overall capital. Out of the total number of registered Kazakh companies, 48 companies are engaged in wholesale and retail trade. The remaining companies operate in other sectors of the Turkish economy.

China and Türkiye are finding more areas of common interest, such as the Belt and Road Initiative – the Chinese government-sponsored project aimed at improving regional connectivity across countries through major investment in infrastructure – which has increased bilateral trade and investments.

Since 2001, economic ties between China and Türkiye have considerably improved. As of 2021, China had 1060 registered businesses in Türkiye with most investments accumulated between 2014 and 2019. Clearly, Chinese investors have significant interests in Türkiye, with some notable examples both from the public and private sectors
