BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 14. Azerbaijan’s fixed capital investments amounted to 2.2 billion manat ($1.2 billion) from January through February 2023, Trend reports referring to Azerbaijan’s State Statistical Committee.

According to the committee, this figure is 60.1 percent more than in the same period of the previous year.

In the reporting period, investments in the oil sector increased by 2.4 percent, while investments in the non-oil sector increased 2.3 times year over year.

Meanwhile, 51 percent (1.1 million manat or $647.06 million) of investments fell in the manufacturing sector, 43.9 percent (968.5 million manat or $569.7 million) – in the service sector, 5.1 percent (113 million manat or $66.4 million) – on the construction of residential buildings, and 75.1 percent (1.65 billion manat or $970.5 million) – on internal funds.

A total of 1.62 million manat or $952.9 million (73.7 percent of fixed capital investments) have been spent on construction and installation work.

Out of the total fixed capital investments, enterprises, and organizations made up 44.8 percent, budgetary funds – 42.9 percent, personal funds of the population – 6.6 percent, bank loans – 1.8 percent, and other funds – 3.9 percent.

In 2022, fixed capital investments settled at 18.27 billion manat ($10.7 billion), which was 5.5 percent more than in 2021.
