BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 17. A total of 113,276 apartments were sold in May 2023 in Türkiye, which is a decrease of 7.7 percent on an annual basis, Trend reports.
According to the Turkish General Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre, in the reporting month, 3,167 apartments were sold to foreign citizens, down by 46.9 percent compared to the same month of 2022.
Meanwhile, foreigners purchased most apartments in Türkiye's Antalya.
So, in the above city, the number of apartments sold to foreigners amounted to 1,254. In Istanbul, this figure reached 934 apartments, while in Mersin - 249 apartments.
From January through May this year, 482,143 apartments were sold in Türkiye, 16.3 percent less than in the same period of 2022. Of these, 16,650 were sold to foreign citizens, which is 37.8 percent less than in the first five months of last year.
