Türkiye discloses cargo transshipment volume via Karabiga port

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 22. The volume of transshipment at the Turkish port of Karabig amounted to 6.4 million tons from January through July 2023, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure said, Trend reports.

According to the ministry, 563,769 tons of cargo were handled by ships under the flag of Türkiye through the port of Karabiga during this period, and 5.9 million tons by vessels under the flags of other countries.

"The Turkish port of Karabiga did not handle any transit cargo from January through July 2023," said the ministry.

In general, Turkish ports handled 32.5 million tons of cargo in July 2023.

In addition, cargo transportation by ships under the country's flag through domestic ports amounted to 2.5 million tons during the specified period.

Cargo transportation through the ports of Türkiye by ships under the flags of other countries amounted to 30.1 million tons.

In addition, Turkish ports handled 6.1 million tons of transit cargo in July 2023.

Turkish ports handled 227.03 million tons of cargo from January through July 2023.

Furthermore, cargo transportation by vessels under the flag of Türkiye amounted to 16.8 million tons during the specified period. Cargo transportation through the ports of Türkiye by ships under the flags of other countries amounted to 210.2 million tons.

Turkish ports handled 41.1 million tons of transit cargo from January through July 2023.
